The Program &; Communication Associate (PCA) will work under direct supervision of the Program Manager to support seamless internal and external communications (Conventional and New Media) and follow-ups as needed on day-to-day program management functions, including contributing to work planning and activity monitoring; administering and monitoring subcontracts; developing and tracking program deliverables such as quarterly and annual reports; coordinating field visits and partner progress meetings; and coordinating technical assistance and capacity building support for partners. The PCA will work with broader internal
and external teams for the smooth execution of programs. The PCA will also support documentation of program best practices, success stories and lessons learned
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
To perform excellently on this role, the candidate must be able to perform each of the following essential duties and responsibilities:
Supports the team in providing management and technical oversight of programs, ensuring that program activities are effectively and efficiently implemented
Support work plan monitoring systems development and implementation
Assist with various administrative and finance functions to ensure projects receive the quality and quantity of services required in a timely manner;
Support with media and communications effort in preparation and dissemination of program-related and non program-related information on all platforms – Conventional and Social Media. Robust proficiency in the use of Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and Website management tools.
Excellent use of graphics tools, photo and video editing tools, newsletter creation,
executing content creation and management is a mandatory requirement
Assist with other team and organizational activities as may be required Supervisory Responsibility
Position has no day-to-day supervisory duties but will also be required to supervise ad-hoc staff from time to time.
Education and Professional Experience
Minimum of 1 year of progressive experience working in Program management and Program communications in an NGO context is highly desirable.
Minimum of First Degree in a relevant field
Demonstrated experience in program communications, excellent use of photo and video editing tools, content management for social media platforms
Ability to work under tight time constraints. Can multitask with ease, manage ambiguity,and adapt to frequently changing priorities.
Must be able to work independently, with minimal direct supervision, and participate in meetings via Skype/Hangout/Zoom/Bluejeans.
Good learning ability, action oriented and resilient in a fast-paced environment.
Oral and Written Communication Skills
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office suite, photo, video and graphics editing tools
Proficiency in managing social media handles including website management
Online researching skills
Flexibility and working under pressure
Good computer skill
Planning and Organizational skills
Excellent time management skills
