The Nigerian Army is the largest component of the Nigerian Armed Forces. It is responsible for land warfare operations and bears the brunt of the nation’s security challenges, notably the Boko Haram insurgency and other terrorist groups in the country.
How to apply for the Nigerian army recruitment 2021
From this page, you’ll be redirected to the qualification page where you can apply as per your qualification.
You’ll be required to select if you are serving/have served in the armed forces of Nigeria. So choose the appropriate option and proceed.
At this point, if you have not signed up before, you’ll be asked to sign up and a verification mail will be sent to you.
Proceed by filling the form on the portal
Upload all important documents:
Evidence of membership of a professional body
Certificate of state of origin
birth certificate or age declaration
Note: for RRI applicants, the qualification selections available depend on the preferred corps selected.
How to proceed
Applicants must print out their online generated photo-slip after submission. The first page must be signed by the registrar of any court of law and the second page signed by the local government chairman or secretary or a military officer with the rank of lieutenant colonel.
The successfully shortlisted candidate would be required to participate in a written examination at a designated centre across the nation. You’ll be asked to present the photo-slip print out at the entrance to the exam venue.
General Qualification for The Nigerian Army Recruitment 2021
Here is the list of the general qualification into the Nigerian army:
You must be a Nigerian by birth and have a National Identity Cards.
Be medically, physically and psychologically fit.
Be free of any criminal conviction by the court of law.
You must possess a minimum of 4 passes in not more than 2 sittings in WASSCE, GCE, NECO or NABTEB at O Level including English Language
knowledge of additional Nigerian language other than mother tongue is an added advantage.

Maximum Age (Non – Trades) – 22
Minimum Age (Trades) – 28
Maximum Age (Trades) – 35
Minimum Height (Male) – 1.68
Minimum Height (Female) – 1.62

There’s no Pre-Selection Computer Based Test.
There is no special centre for recruitment.
No Zonal Screening Exercise.
All screening exercises are conducted at the candidate’s respective state of origin.
All candidates are expected to strictly adhere to COVID-19 protocols by the NCDC which include: regular washing of hands, use of face masks and observing physical distancing.
Falsification of the documents does not only lead to disqualification but also prosecution under the law.
Candidates are advised to print out their BVN as part of documents that will be requested for.
Candidates are advised in their own interest not to give any form of gratification or inducement to any person or group of persons to assist them in the recruitment exercise.
Candidates are advised to carefully go through the instruction on the website and make sure its well understood.
The Nigerian army usually publishes the names of shortlisted candidates for screening publicly.
Shortlisted candidates must report to their respective state of origin for the screening exercise on 23 November – 6 December 2020.
Successful candidates would then be taken to Depot NA for documentation and the training will commence from 7 December 2020.
All documents will be verified from the appropriate issuing authority. And if you are found presenting the fake document, you will be handed over to the Nigerian police for prosecution.
